Excellent value & awesome performance for the money November 19, 2008 My old iron was useless. I would iron clothes, they would look ironed and I'd hang them up. I would come back a few hours later and they are all wrinkled looking again. I hated ironing!
I finally bit the bullet and looked for a new iron. The D2030 had a TON of positive reviews on Amazon and other sites so I figured for the money, it was worth giving a whirl.
All I can say is, "WOW!" It worked so well that I could not find enough clothes to iron and I actually did not dread ironing anymore.
There are newer (and more expensive) models by B&D and other manufacturers out there, but I'd go with this one. You won't be disappointed.
Black and decker November 19, 2008 Excellent Iron, great steam and not too heavy. Just one thing the dail for the steam is right at your finger tips and easily gets turned off so you have to be aware of the setting .
B & D Digital iron November 18, 2008 Product is terrific. I like the digital aspects of it, lets you know when it's ready, I really love the temp setting of different materials, and the steam burst great.
Does Auto-Off November 17, 2008 I think most iron are pretty much the same. What make this one special is that 1. It turns off by it self if you don't move it for few minutes.( I think it is a necessary feature no matter how alert you are) 2. It tell you when the temperature is "ready" for the fabric you choose. And it is very easy to set it up. 3. Stainless surface make it very efficient. (but may get some calcification in the long run compare to non-stick surface.
I am very satisfied with this except one little thing. Amazon drop the price from $49.99 to $40 few days after I bought it.
Good Iron but one Design Flaw November 16, 2008 This is a good iron but it has one annoying design flaw. Whilst ironing, imperceptible movements will rotate the circular knob that controls steam output - you'll be halfway through ironing a shirt when you stop and wonder why no more steam is coming out. If you're like me, you want max steam coming out at all times, and you'll be constantly having to check that the knob hasn't moved. It's annoying.
Otherwise this iron would've got 5-stars.
Other reviews talk about how much steam this thing puts out - for me, it puts out enough but I've had other irons (Sunbeams) that put out more.
