Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
In 2008, the Eli Young Band are one of the fastest-growing on-the-road outfits in the region. The four Eli Young Band members came together purely by chance as students the University of North Texas in Denton, where roommates Mike Eli and James Young found an instant and intense shared musical sensibility. For frontman Eli, the wildfire success of the band is undeniable musical proof that some of the best things in life are just meant to be. The duo, originally known as Eli & Young, mixed their newly penned songs with covers from musical heroes like Rodney Crowell and Paul Simon and started playing regular gigs at a local dive known as the R Bar. That sleepy venue was soon alive with a full house and a full band when next-door college roommates Chris Thompson and Jon Jones joined on drums and bass respectively.

I have been a big fan of Eli young from the start on there other albums i would give them a 5 star with extra. But this one upset me big time. They moved away from there own style witch they did al so so good in the past but the present they have went nashville. I hope the go back. I waited forever for a new albulm from these guys yet to be upset when i got it

5 out of 5 stars They really sound great on this album.   November 13, 2008
I have always liked Eli Young and this is just one more example. Great lyrics, great vocals and great musicians.

5 out of 5 stars This CD is great!   November 4, 2008
I waited a long time for this CD to be released, and I was not disappointed! This is the same EYB I've seen live so many times, and it's them at their best! I have always thought that their music reflected real life, and the songs on this CD continue to do that. My favorite is "Get in the Car and Drive," a song about a rekindled relationship that has me tapping my toes and singing along every time. "Home" and "Mystery in the Making" are songs beautiful songs. "Enough is Enough" and "Jet Black and Jealous" are songs I loved from the live shows, and they are no less wonderful in their recorded versions. I really loved the previous, independently produced CDs, and each one shows a maturity level higher than the one before, and this CD is no exception.

Oh, and I have to say, Mike Eli can really sing!

5 out of 5 stars Great Texas band   October 16, 2008
Usually there is a song or two on a cd that I'm not that fond of, not in this case. Great cd!!

5 out of 5 stars Eight years in the making   October 6, 2008
I have been going to see this band for over 5 years, treking all over Texas, and loving every second of it. I came across them when they opened for Roger Creager and I have been a diehard ever since. This CD is the culmination of all their hard work, blood, sweat & tears. Yet, a CD cannot compare to seeing them on stage. Each member brings his personality to the stage and they all mesh to create a performance of pure energy. If you like the CD I strongly encourage you to go to a show. You'll be hooked!
