| Customer Reviews: Great Customer Service May 10, 2010 J. Paisley I purchased this wheelchair for my mother. We were excited when it arrived because of it's light weight for easy loading into her van. But when we got it out of the box it was very difficult to unfold. The casters in front would also not rotate 360 degrees which made it impossible to turn while someone was in the chair. We called the number provided and informed them of the problem and within three days a replacement was at the door. The replacement chair works wonderfully! Thank you!
great chair! January 14, 2010 D. Cooper better then my expectations! did have the screw that holds on the leg rest fall off but easily fixed with my fix all wrench.
Not what I expected September 30, 2009 Thomas C. Lis 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First and foremost, both the amazon web site and the Nova Ortho-Med web site advertise this chair as having a fold down back for the handles. It does not fold which means it takes up an inordinate amount of room in a trunk, even my SUV. Because of its width (one of the reasons, I selected this one), because the leg rests angle out away from the center of the chair (rather than straight forward or in), the occupant is forced to sit with knees spread (not very comfortable for my wife.) Lastly, the frame on my particular chair must be misaligned - the front right wheel sits up off the ground when on a level surface. This causes it to pull to the right when pushed. I returned this chair and ordered the Nova 352 - a little narrower seat, fold down back, sits flat. Leg rests still angle out but not as much and this is also somewhat alleviated because of the narrower chair.
Perfect for our needs May 20, 2009 D. Noble (Michigan) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
After much research as to which type of wheelchair to buy (transport vs. standard wheelchair), we decided on a transport chair. The difference is that a transport chair seems better suited for someone who will always be pushed by another person, as opposed to utlitizing the larger rear wheels on the standard chairs by themselves. My elderly dad doesn't have the arm strength to move himself along.
This chair was reasonably priced, lightweight, easily collapsed and has a wide seat. My dad is a big guy and needs the extra stability that this chair provides. My only (minor) complaint is with the straps on the footrests. They loop over a post and can come loose and get under the wheels. We solved the problem by hot gluing them to the post. Simple fix.
