Amazon.com If The Phantom Menace was the setup, then Attack of the Clones is the plot-progressing payoff, and devoted Star Wars fans are sure to be enthralled. Ten years after Episode I, Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman), now a senator, resists the creation of a Republic Army to combat an evil separatist movement. The brooding Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) is resentful of his stern Jedi mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), tormented by personal loss, and showing his emerging "dark side" while protecting his new love, Amidala, from would-be assassins. Youthful romance and solemn portent foreshadow the events of the original Star Wars as Count Dooku (a.k.a. Darth Tyranus, played by Christopher Lee) forges an alliance with the Dark Lord of the Sith, while lavish set pieces showcase George Lucas's supreme command of all-digital filmmaking. All of this makes Episode II a technological milestone, savaged by some critics as a bloated, storyless spectacle, but still qualifying as a fan-approved precursor to the pivotal events of Episode III. --Jeff Shannon

the empire begins July 17, 2010 Marianne (KINGWOOD, TX USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great science fiction movie this has made an improvement over episode 1.
But they alot of better films in 2002 like Iceage Spiderman and Lord of the Rings 2.This one has better battles and a better villan than Darth Maul.
Count Doouku played by Christopher Lee the guy from Lord of the Rings.
and one more thing they have a great lightsaber dual bettween Yoda and Dooku
worst Star Wars movie of the whole series July 12, 2010 Dream's Raven (USA) While Episode I was a disappointment, this movie was mostly terrible. The acting was horriffic, the script full of cliches, and the plot about Anakin's romance with Padme was dull. I'm giving it 2 stars because there was some good action sequences at a few points, most notably at the end when Yoda gets in a sword fight, but on the whole I'd say this movie was pretty bad and I don't really plan on watching it again.
excellent, but... July 2, 2010 the end (usa) great film, fun plot. but WHY ALL THE UNECCESSARY Computer Graphics??? the storm troopers (clones) are cg!!!! why??????????? there are scenes that are cg where all the troopers are doing is marching or standing around! star wars nerds would wear those suits for free and be filmed walking around! i would understand a low budget film using cg for those guys in the battle scenes but this film had a high budget! wtf??? the backgrounds were sometimes cg that was even worse than the phantom menace!!! why????? at one point anakin is talking to palpatine in a room that is cg! they couldn't even build a small room? it had to be computerized??? this is the kind of thing you expect from tv or straight to video movies but not this!!!!
still though the story and action are pretty good and i like the characters, except jar jar, he was a nightmare. also padme and anakins' relationship was very sweet and anakin's emotion when dealing with issues was well done, he's got problems...
Gods, this movie was bad... May 17, 2010 Robert Cardinalli (Portland, OR) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Every moment of Hayden Christensen on the screen is just agony.
But I can't blame Hayden--as horrible as he was--for this disaster. I blame the man who cast him. I blame the man who wrote the script. I blame the man who directed the film.
I blame George.
EWW to much kissing! May 10, 2010 I love this movie. I love the storyline but it would even be better if there wasn't so much kissing. But overall this is an awesome movie.
